derma e: Skin Care Without Hidden Secrets

How carefully do you read and analyze the ingredients in your lotions, ointments and cosmetics? Your skin is your largest organ, and although there are many companies that are evasive about the ingredients in their skincare products, it’s refreshing to discover a conscientious company such as derma e.

derma e – Review

derma e is a family owned and operated company that has been producing a wide range of cremes, cleansers, and natural anti-aging antioxidant and treatment solutions for 28 years. derma e uses natural and organic ingredients whenever possible and does not use any harsh chemicals or ingredients that are known to be harmful.

There are a number of derma e products, and I was happy to try two of their most popular creams.

derma e Skinbiotics Treatment Creme:

The derma e Skinbiotics Treatment Creme seems to have been formulated with families in mind as it is a soothing creme made with natural antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties making it a great solution for anything from abrasions, to insect bites to itchy rashes.

derma e Skinbiotics Treatment Creme went on very smoothly with no stinging or greasy residue and it worked well on the numerous scrapes my family has received over these past few weeks. The Skinbiotics Creme also cleared up an unidentified patch of dry scaly skin that my daughter had on her face and which no other products I had tried had been able to cure.

The tea tree oil contained in the Skinbiotics Creme gives it a medicinal odor, but I didn’t find it unpleasant or overpowering. (113 g for $21.95)

derma e Skin Lighten Natural Fade and Age Spot Creme:

The derma e Skin Lighten Natural Fade and Age Spot Crème is designed to fade age and liver spots and even out skin tones. This Age Spot Creme is a blend of herbs and vitamins and contains no harmful bleaches or hydroquinone.

I used this creme on both my face and hands as I have several dark spots and a fairly prominent pregnancy mask near my hairline. I was hoping to post some dramatic before and after photos but I didn’t see a noticeable difference after a month of use. It is recommended that the creme be applied twice daily and that the age spots be kept covered or protected with sunscreen and, to be fair, I will admit that I did not always follow this regime exactly. Even though I did not get the desired fading results, I did like the creme as a facial moisturizer. (56 g for $24.95)

derma e Skin Care – Pros

All derma e products are free of parabens, pthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors and are pH balanced, 100% vegetarian and cruelty-free.
The derma e products are priced reasonably and are a good value when compared to other product lines.
The derma e website is very user friendly and informative. I especially liked being able to search for product to match a specific skin conditions and the glossary of ingredients that gives the origin of each ingredient and its purpose.

derma e – Cons

Both of the derma e products I tried came in a round container with a screw top lid. I would prefer a squeezable tube to the tub, as it would be easier to store and more convenient to use. Plus, I always felt like I needed to wash my hands before dipping my finger into the container.

Would I Purchase derma e?

I would buy the derma e Skinbiotics Creme again, but I would look elsewhere for a product to reduce the appearance of my age spots.
